Promotion of History

I am Secretary of the Ku-ring-gai Historical Society, a Patron and member of the publications committee of the Ryde District Historical Society, and a Council member of the Royal Australian Historical Society.

Former honorary positions include ones with: the Australian and New Zealand Society of the History of Medicine (President and Council member); NSW Society of the History of Medicine (President); Professional Historians Australia (NSW & ACT) (Membership Secretary and other positions); Australian Historical Association (Secretary); Religious History Society of Australia (committee member); and Oral History Association, NSW (committee member).

I have helped organise conferences in Australia and overseas, and have judged student/research grants for the Australian and New Zealand Society of the History of Medicine, Oral History Australia, and the American Association for the History of Nursing. Since 2016, I have assisted with conferences run by the Royal Australian Historical Society, Australian Historical Association, the Australian and New Zealand Society of the History of Medicine, Oral History Australia, and the Australian College of Nursing.
